    Wednesday Jan 18, 2023 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM

    ICELAND IN WINTER
    Wednesday, January 18 | 1:00pm
    Zoom
Iceland, an island in the North Atlantic, is about the size of Kentucky but with only 365,000 people. Since its settlement by the Vikings a thousand
years ago, it has captured our imagination and boasts over two million visitors annually. Photojournalist Barry Pell drove the entire
circumference during the challenging winter weather season. In winter, Iceland’s attractions - volcanoes, steaming hot springs and geysers,
towering glaciers, black lava fields, and remote farms and churches, are dusted and glazed in a wonderland of snow and ice. In addition, the wild
reindeer herds, the hardy pony-sized Icelandic horses, and the surreal colors of the Northern Lights make winter a very special (and uncrowded)
time to see the country. Register by Fri., Jan.13.
