Friends of Center Park invite you to join Massachusetts Master Gardeners in a “hands-on and how-to” create and maintain sun and shade gardens and landscapes. All tools are provided. Bring a chair to just sit nearby and observe, if you prefer, as the "hands-on" portion of this class is entirely optional. Please dress for the weather, bring garden gloves, your favorite bug repellent, hydration for yourself, and clippers if you have them. Please contact Alison Saylor at Friends@centerparkcarlislema.org for more program information. This year we have grant money to spend on new native plants to attract pollinators.

The benefits of chair yoga for older adults includes loosening and stretching painful muscles, reducing chronic pain, decreasing stress, and improving circulation. It also reduces anxiety, helps lower blood pressure, protects joints, and builds strength and balance. No equipment necessary. FREE for Carlisle 60+ residents. Registration is required.

    Join us for Drum and Rhythm Circle with Otha Day. This program is for all ages. Otha Day leads these fun and lively drum circle events from the deep belief that rhythm has the power to build community, promote well-being and healing, and create joy. He supports participants as they experience the importance of rhythm in all aspects of life and realize that "our heartbeat and breath are the rhythms of our soul and the pathway of our connection to everyone."  Learn and play songs, rhythms, chants, and activities from the cultures of both East and West Africa, the Middle East, First Nations Peoples, African America, and European America. Drums whose origins are (and inspired by) West African, Middle East, Asia, Indigenous American, and South American: djembe, frame drums, conga, and bongo.     If the sun was the size of a soccer ball, how big would the earth be? And how far away? Gain an understanding of the enormous size of space by exploring a scale model of our Solar System on foot. Join amateur astronomer Steve Golson for a walk across the solar system. Meet on the Carlisle Public School plaza. We’ll walk from the plaza to Kimball’s for an ice cream. Bring a chair to just sit nearby and observe, if you prefer, as the "hands-on" portion of this class is entirely optional. Please dress for the weather, bring garden gloves, your favorite bug repellent, hydration for yourself, and clippers if you have them.
