Meet the “Bee Whisperer” Wednesday, June 5 | 11:00 am Clark Room, Town Hall Join us for this special program with Ken Warchol, a Massachusetts state Bee Inspector, who will share his heartwarming and engaging presentation on the honeybee. Ken is a 6th generation caretaker of bees. His program “The Role of the Honeybee in Our Environment” brings you inside a beehive to better understand the mysterious social insect, challenges it faces, and the role it plays in humanity’s survival. Discover Mt. Auburn Friday, June 7 Mount Auburn, designated a National Historic Landmark, is one of the most beautiful and historic landscapes in America. Here, the arts of horticulture, architecture and sculpture combine with the beauty of nature to create a place of inspiration. This private walking tour will focus on the stories of history, monuments and impressive collection of thousands shrubs and plants. Lunch together afterwards at a nearby restaurant. Friends of Center Park invite you to join Massachusetts Master Gardeners in a “hands-on and how-to” create and maintain sun and shade gardens and landscapes. All tools are provided. Bring a chair to just sit nearby and observe, if you prefer, as the "hands-on" portion of this class is entirely optional. Please dress for the weather, bring garden gloves, your favorite bug repellent, hydration for yourself, and clippers if you have them.
