    Open to All Levels of Gardeners from Beginner to Expert. Friends of Center Park invite you to join Massachusetts Master Gardeners in a “hands-on and how-to” create and maintain sun and shade gardens and landscapes. All tools are provided. Bring a chair to just sit nearby and observe, if you prefer, as the "hands-on" portion of this class is entirely optional. Please dress for the weather, bring garden gloves, your favorite bug repellent, hydration for yourself, and clippers if you have them. Please contact Alison Saylor at Friends@centerparkcarlislema.org for more program information. This year we have grant money to spend on new native plants to attract pollinators.

    Join us for this special program with Ken Warchol, a Massachusetts state Bee Inspector, who will share his heartwarming and engaging presentation on the honeybee. Ken is a 6th generation caretaker of bees.


    His program “The Role of the Honeybee in Our Environment” brings you inside a beehive to better understand the mysterious social insect, challenges it faces, and the role it plays in humanity’s survival. Ken also brings samples of a variety of his honey for everyone to taste. Come find out why Ken is known as the “Bee Whisperer”. The benefits of chair yoga for older adults includes loosening and stretching painful muscles, reducing chronic pain, decreasing stress, and improving circulation. It also reduces anxiety, helps lower blood pressure, protects joints, and builds strength and balance. No equipment necessary. FREE for Carlisle 60+ residents. Registration is required.

    Mount Auburn, designated a National Historic Landmark, is one of the most beautiful and historic landscapes in America. Here, the arts of horticulture, architecture and sculpture combine with the beauty of nature to create a place of inspiration. This private walking tour will focus on the stories of history, monuments and impressive collection of thousands shrubs and plants. Lunch together afterwards at a nearby restaurant. Tour fee $10 and van fee $5 payable on the day of trip. Space limited. Departs at 9:30am from the Carlisle Congregational Church (back lot). Carlisle 60+ residents have priority.

    Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) is the principle investigative arm of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.  One of HSI’s primary missions is to protect the public from crimes of victimization, strategically targeting and investigating individuals and networks that engage in financial scams impacting vulnerable populations.  This presentation will cover some of the common scams targeting older individuals and what to do if you become a target.

The benefits of chair yoga for older adults includes loosening and stretching painful muscles, reducing chronic pain, decreasing stress, and improving circulation. It also reduces anxiety, helps lower blood pressure, protects joints, and builds strength and balance. No equipment necessary. FREE for Carlisle 60+ residents. Registration is required.

Friends of Center Park invite you to join Massachusetts Master Gardeners in a “hands-on and how-to” create and maintain sun and shade gardens and landscapes. All tools are provided. Bring a chair to just sit nearby and observe, if you prefer, as the "hands-on" portion of this class is entirely optional. Please dress for the weather, bring garden gloves, your favorite bug repellent, hydration for yourself, and clippers if you have them.
