EMERSON ORTHOPEDIC UPPER EXTREMITY INJURIES Tuesday, April 30| 1:00 pm Clark Room, Town Hall Two occupational therapists from Emerson Health’s Clough Family Center for Rehabilitative and Sports Therapies will present information on common musculoskeletal conditions that impact the performance of daily activities, with specific attention to the upper extremity (shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist, and hand). They will provide information on activity modification strategies and the use of adaptive equipment and splinting to assist in the treatment of these conditions and will be available after the presentation to answer questions from the audience. The benefits of chair yoga for older adults includes loosening and stretching painful muscles, reducing chronic pain, decreasing stress, and improving circulation. It also reduces anxiety, helps lower blood pressure, protects joints, and builds strength and balance. No equipment necessary. FREE for Carlisle 60+ residents. Registration is required.

Friends of Center Park invite you to join Massachusetts Master Gardeners in a “hands-on and how-to” create and maintain sun and shade gardens and landscapes. All tools are provided. Bring a chair to just sit nearby and observe, if you prefer, as the "hands-on" portion of this class is entirely optional. Please dress for the weather, bring garden gloves, your favorite bug repellent, hydration for yourself, and clippers if you have them. Two occupational therapists from Emerson Health’s Clough Family Center for Rehabilitative and Sports Therapies will present information on common musculoskeletal conditions that impact the performance of daily activities, with specific attention to the upper extremity (shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist, and hand).
They will provide information on activity modification strategies and the use of adaptive equipment and splinting to assist in the treatment of these conditions and will be available after the presentation to answer questions from the audience.
